IC Therapies 2024 Web Illustrations and Redesign
IC Therapies is an independent consultancy specialising in private mental healthcare and psychotherapeutic services. In collaboration with Aether Digital, I was commissioned to develop a bespoke visual identity and suite of illustrations to anchor the consultancy’s digital redesign.
My role extended beyond illustration to include creative consultancy on user-facing design elements and content strategy. The objective was to cultivate a digital environment that reflects the empathy and professionalism of the practice, utilising a refined visual language to make mental health support feel both accessible and authoritative. This project demonstrates my ability to provide strategic creative guidance within the healthcare sector, ensuring that complex human services are communicated with clarity and care.

The consultancy’s original digital presence lacked the structural cohesion and accessibility required for a modern healthcare provider. The legacy site presented significant challenges in information architecture, SEO, and inclusive design standards for disabled users.
Collaborating closely with the development team at Aether Digital, I served as a creative bridge between the client’s needs and the technical implementation. We implemented a comprehensive redesign that prioritised equitable accessibility and intuitive navigation. By refining the content strategy and visual hierarchy, we transformed the platform into a warm, inviting environment that maintains professional authority while ensuring a low-friction experience for both new and existing clients.

The resulting platform delivers a cohesive digital infrastructure that balances enhanced functionality with a contemporary, high-fidelity aesthetic. By integrating responsive design and universal accessibility standards, the site reinforces a sense of professional trust and institutional stability.
Central to this redesign is a suite of bespoke, charming illustrations created exclusively for IC Therapies. This unique visual language serves to humanise the clinical space, providing a unified and approachable identity that distinguishes the consultancy within the psychotherapeutic landscape.

Each bespoke iconographic illustration is designed to distil the core methodology of the specific psychotherapeutic services offered (CBT, IPT, EMDR, and CFT). These figures serve as the primary visual anchors for their respective service modules, creating a cohesive and intuitive navigational experience.
The colour palette for each illustration is strategically synchronised with the site’s thematic architecture. For example, the IPT (Interpersonal Psychotherapy) module utilises an orange-based scheme derived from the brand’s core logo, establishing a consistent visual shorthand across the platform. This systematic use of colour and form ensures a high level of clarity and professional resonance, guiding the user through the therapeutic landscape with ease.

Beyond the static interface, my character designs served as the visual foundation for the site’s primary motion-explainer. This allowed for a seamless transition between the static and moving elements of the brand identity, ensuring a unified user experience across all digital touchpoints.
This project was a significant exercise in client-responsive design strategy, requiring a precise balance between creative autonomy and the specific requirements of a clinical consultancy. Collaborating with technical specialists at Aether Digital provided a valuable opportunity to adapt my illustrative practice into a web-native format, successfully extending my work to a new professional audience while maintaining a high standard of inclusive visual communication.
